DraftKings MLB: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings MLB: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

David Price, BOS vs. BAL ($9,700): Over his last six starts, Price has a 2.55 ERA with an xFIP standing higher at 3.75. This southpaw also has his K rate above his career average at 26 percent. Surprisingly, despite being a top five offense against right-handed pitching, the Orioles rank 25th with a wRC+ of 87 and an average 21.5 percent K rate. What initially is thought to be a tough matchup actually figures to be favorable, and Vegas agrees, making Price and the Red Sox strong favorites at -174.

CATCHER

Bobby Wilson, TEX at OAK ($2,500): Despite being a fixture at the bottom of the lineup for the Rangers, Wilson has been remarkably effective against left-handed pitching this season with a .469 wOBA and 197 wRC+.

FIRST BASE

Carlos Santana, CLE at KC ($4,300):Chris Young has a league worst 3.73 home runs allowed per nine innings while Santana leads the team with a .359 wOBA 127 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, while having a BABIP of just .205.

SECOND BASE

Jason Kipnis, CLE at KC ($3,900): Kipnis ranks right behind Santana with a .354 wOBA and 124 wRC+ against right-handed pitching this year.

THIRD BASE

Danny Valencia, OAK vs. TEX ($4,000): The Athletics have a trio of lefty crushers that all have ISOs over .300 this season. First-and-foremost is Valencia, who has a .419 ISO to go with a .542 wOBA and 256 wRC+. Opposing southpaw Martin Perez has found reasonable success this season keeping the ball on the ground, mitigating home run threats and suggesting only taking Athletics bats with high fly ball percentages. Valencia's fly ball rate against lefties is 40.5 percent to go with an incredible hard hit percentage of 51.4 percent.

SHORTSTOP

Marcus Semien, OAK vs. TEX ($3,900): Semien falls right behind Valencia, sporting a .319 ISO, .414 wOBA and 168 wRC+ against left-handed pitching this season, while the fly ball percentage is even higher at 46.2 percent.

OUTFIELD

Khris Davis, OAK vs. TEX ($3,500): The last of the trio of righties out of Oakland, Davis has a .370 ISO, .376 wOBA and a 142 wRC+ against southpaws this season along with a fly ball rate of 47.2 percent.

Carlos Beltran, NYY at COL ($5,300): Beltran has undergone a power resurgence with a .307 ISO against left-handed pitching this season. Didn't think you were getting away without me recommending at least one Coors bat, did you?

Jackie Bradley, BOS vs. BAL ($4,200): Bradley holds a .291 ISO, .415 wOBA and 161 wRC+ against righties this season. That's still well-behind his ageless wonder teammate David Ortiz, but those are elite numbers within an elite offense capable of posting a crooked number on the scoreboard every night.
