PITCHER
Clayton Kershaw, LAD vs. STL ($13,400): The Cardinals enter with a mediocre .302 wOBA and target-worthy 22.2 strikeout percentage against southpaws this season, so teeing up Kershaw is definitely in play. Kid K has contest winning upside, and he's yet to turn in a true dominant start this season, so the potential for him to put it all together in a favorable matchup is enticing. Even with two starts of his nine starts at Coors Field, Kershaw still boasts an impeccable 2.15 ERA for the campaign.
Joe Ross, WAS vs. SEA ($5,900): There is potential for this start to go sideways in a hurry for Ross. However, with a strong possibility of rain, his bargain salary might check out with a low ownership percentage. He's been working on his delivery in the minors to underwhelming results, but Ross did post a 3.49 FIP, 8.0 K/9 and 20.1 strikeout percentage last season, so the potential is there. He also helps mitigate the hefty salary of Clayton Kershaw.
CATCHER
Chris Herrmann, ARI vs. CWS ($3,600): Look for Herrmann to draw into the lineup against righty Dylan Covey on Tuesday. Covey has allowed at least three runs in five of seven starts and sports a 7.33 FIP, so even though he's held lefty bats to a .334 wOBA, it should be a cushy matchup for the potent D-backs offense. Herrmann has posted a respectable .345 wOBA against right-handed hurlers over the past two seasons, too.
FIRST BASE
Edwin Encarnacion, CLE at CIN ($4,400): Dating back to last season, Encarnacion owns a .358 wOBA against lefties, and Amir Garrett is coming off a poor outing against the Cubs. Additionally, after a strong start to the campaign, the rookie lefty sports an 8.69 FIP while allowing a 37.3 hard-hit percentage through his past four outings.
SECOND BASE
Jose Ramirez, CLE at CIN ($4,200): After posting a .363 wOBA against left-handed pitchers last season, Ramirez's current -- mark is eyeing positive regression, and this is a target-worthy matchup. Right-handed hitters have squared up Amir Garrett for a 38.6 hard-hit percentage, and his recent struggles should enable Cleveland to have a strong offensive day.
THIRD BASE
Joey Gallo, TEX vs. BOS ($4,100): The slugger is a feast-or-famine option with his on-base percentage and ISO against right-handed hurlers both at .315. Rick Porcello isn't an intimidating opposing pitcher, so this matchup could work for Gallo. Procello has allowed 1.63 HR/9, a .361 wOBA and 42.2 hard-hit percentage to right-handed hitters, after all.
SHORTSTOP
Dansby Swanson, ATL vs. PIT ($3,600): Everything is trending in the right direction again for Swanson, as he's posted a 1.023 OPS, .422 wOBA and 44.8 hard-hit percentage over the past two weeks. This salary hasn't caught up to his recent improvements, and Tyler Glasnow has allowed a .378 on-base percentage and .381 wOBA to right-handed hitters.
OUTFIELD
Andrew Benintendi, BOS vs. TEX ($3,900): This is probably a ripe spot to pick on Andrew Cashner. The veteran righty has limited opposing left-handed hitters to a .318 wOBA this season after allowing a .382 mark over the previous two years. At this salary, Benintendi's career .356 on-base percentage and .344 wOBA are also target-worthy marks with his shift in the middle of the Boston lineup.
Curtis Granderson, NYM vs. SDP ($3,700):Jhoulys Chacin has surrendered a .348 wOBA to left-handed hitters over the past three years and also struggled on the road this season with a 8.77 ERA and .406 wOBA allowed. Granderson is a streaky slugger that's kick-starting a hot stretch with a 66.7 hard-hit percentage through his past five games. The outfielder's .361 wOBA against right-handed pitchers for the year also checks out.
Christian Yelich, MIA at OAK ($3,400): This salary doesn't jive with Yelich's production over the past three seasons. The cross-category contributor sports a .378 on-base percentage and .365 wOBA against righties since 2015, and he's posted a 41.4 hard-hit percentage against right-handed pitchers this year. There is nothing to fear about the matchup against Jesse Hahn, either. He's posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.53 WHIP against left-handed hitters over the same three-year span.
