FanDuel MLB: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

PITCHER

Johnny Cueto, SFG at PHI ($9,900): There has been plenty of hit and miss with Cueto this season, but he's coming off an encouraging start against Atlanta and lands in another friendly matchup. The Phillies own a 24th-ranked .305 wOBA and ninth highest 22.8 strikeout percentage against right-handed arms. It's a solid fit for Cueto's 8.7 K/9 and 23.2 strikeout percentage.

CATCHER

Yasmani Grandal, LAD at MIL ($3,100): Dating back to 2015, Matt Garza has allowed an .842 OPS and .362 wOBA to left-handed hitters, so this is a solid matchup for the backstop. Grandal sports a .381 wOBA against right-handed hurlers this year, and he's locked into the three-hole of the lineup. Miller Park is a favorable hitting environment, too.

FIRST BASE

Justin Bour, MIA vs. ARI ($3,500): The first baseman is in the midst of a power breakout and owns a 48.2 hard-hit percentage and .373 wOBA against righty arms this season. Bour also benefits from hitting behind Miami's three best hitters against righties. There is nothing scary about the matchup with Randall Delgado, who is allowing a .489 slugging percentage and .356 wOBA to lefty bats since last year.

SECOND BASE

Jason Kipnis, CLE at KC ($3,300): After posting a .353 wOBA against right-handed arms last season, there is positive regression ahead for Kipnis' current .293 mark. He's leading off for the Tribe and picking up his production at the plate with a .359 wOBA since May 15. Jason Hammel is also reeling with 19 runs allowed and a 5.70 FIP through 23.1 innings over his past four starts.

THIRD BASE

Jake Lamb, ARI at MIA ($3,900): Edinson Volquez has surrendered a .500 slugging percentage and .388 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season, and Lamb boasts a 1.076 OPS, .331 ISO and .439 wOBA against righties. Additionally, he might not carry a high ownership percentage because of how many high-end options there are at the hot corner.

SHORTSTOP

Corey Seager, LAD at MIL ($3,300): As noted, facing Matt Garza at Miller Park is a cushy fantasy matchup, and Seager pairs nicely with Yasmani Grandal. The shortstop bats second in a dangerous lineup, and Seager owns a career .932 OPS and .395 wOBA against right-handed pitchers.

OUTFIELD

David Peralta, ARI at MIA ($3,400): Over the past three seasons, Peralta has established himself as a high-floor option against right-handed hurlers with a .374 wOBA. He bats second in the lineup against righties and has been locked in since mid-May with an .863 OPS over his past 74 plate appearances.

Scott Schebler, CIN vs. ATL ($3,100): There is a lot of feast or famine in Schebler's plate approach, and R.A. Dickey could be a tricky matchup, so there is definitely bust risk. However, the knuckleballer has allowed an .879 OPS and .376 wOBA to left-handed hitters and 12 of Scheblers 16 home runs have come against right-handed arms. Schebler also sports a respectable .340 wOBA and 37.7 hard-hit percentage against righties this season.

Bradley Zimmer, CLE at KC ($2,600): The rookie has impressed early on with a 50.0 hard-hit percentage, 1.057 OPS and .443 wOBA against right-handed hurlers. That production doesn't match his salary, and as noted, Hammel has struggled over his past four outings. Zimmer has been moving his way closer to the middle of the lineup of late, too.
