Weekly Pitcher Rankings: The Calm after the Storm

Weekly Pitcher Rankings: The Calm after the Storm

This article is part of our Weekly Pitcher Rankings series.

As is often the case, the schedule following a busy week is light, as there are only 87 scheduled games this week, about six fewer than normal. The result is a scant supply of two-start options. This could be a week to slide your third closer into your lineup, hoping to grab an extra save or two.

The report pertaining to MLB cracking down on sticky substances used by pitchers to improve grip is obviously important. However, until we know what will be done, it's futile to speculate on the outcomes. That said, whatever is done will not affect everyone the same as some pitchers rely on gravity and not spin to do the heavy lifting — or in this case dropping.

Please keep in mind I pull the starters from the site's Projected Starters grid so any questions regarding the rotations should be directed there.
