Trent Grisham

Grisham's most obvious real-life value has always been tied to his defense, though his potential to package double-digit homers and steals has kept him from falling entirely off the fantasy radar. Last season, he notched a career-high 15 thefts and slugged 13 long balls but was largely unrosterable due to batting a meager .198, falling below the Mendoza Line for the second straight year. Grisham was awarded for his patience at the plate with an elite 13.5% walk rate, but his affinity for taking pitches wasn't all positive -- he passed on considerably more pitches in the best areas of the strike zone than the average major-leaguer, which combined with a 28.3% whiff rate to result in a poor 27.8% strikeout rate. Grisham's glove gave him a considerable amount of job security during his tenure to San Diego, but after moving to the Yankees in the Juan Soto deal, he'll likely spend the 2024 campaign in a fourth-outfielder role.
