How does Anthony Misiewicz compare to other relievers?
This section compares his stats with all relief pitcher seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 30 innings)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.

* Exit Velocity, Barrels/BBE %, Balls Hit 95+ MPH %, and Spin Rate are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 30 IP). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Misiewicz made his major-league debut for the Mariners to begin the 2020 season and remained in the majors for the entire year, totaling eight holds over 21 appearances. He logged a solid 4.05 ERA, but his 3.04 FIP and 3.27 SIERA were even more encouraging. Misiewicz has a middling 94.1 mph average fastball velocity, but his cutter is his primary pitch, and he leans heavily on his curveball as well. The lefty never topped a 25.2 K% in the minors, but he finished the year with a 30.1 K% in the majors while also recording a 14.9% swinging-strike rate. Despite his ability to force swings and misses, the 26-year-old posted an abysmal 28.3 GB%, which was especially concerning given his 45.1% hard-hit rate. Misiewicz showed promise during his first major-league season and could earn some save chances for the Mariners in 2021, but he has some things to work on before he becomes a more reliable fantasy option.
