ANALYSIS
Cronin was lifted during an extended relief appearance Aug. 29 in Colorado due to an apparent injury, but he returned to action just under a week later to remove any lingering concern about his health. The 26-year-old righty has picked up four of his six holds on the season in the past month and could be primed to pitch in more high-leverage situations down the stretch with Calvin Faucher (shoulder) recently joining Andrew Nardi (elbow) on the shelf.

Cronin is evidently one of them, and it's not surprising to hear there's interest, as the righty's strikeout rate has spiked to 25 percent in 2024 while he continues to generate ground balls at a 54.2 percent clip. The 26-year-old is not projected to be arbitration-eligible until 2027.
