Recalled, shelved with tricep injury
The White Sox recalled Bush from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday and placed him on the 15-day injured list with a left tricep strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chicago optioned Bush to Triple-A on Aug. 26, and despite making a one-inning start for Charlotte on Sept. 7, he'll revert to the big club's 15-day IL after suffering the injury in that outing. Given the timing of the injury, Bush is unlikely to be activated before the season ends Sept. 29. Bush made four starts for the White Sox prior to his demotion in late August, logging a 5.60 ERA and 2.04 WHIP while walking more batters (16) than he struck out (11) over 17.2 innings.

Quero landed in the top-100 preseason prospects for Keith Law of The Athletic, while Bush was a second-round pick in 2021. The 23-year-old has struggled at Double-A since returning from groin and oblique injuries, logging a 5.88 ERA across six starts, but he posted better results at the level in 2022 and could earn a promotion to Triple-A before the season is out if he gets back into form.
