26-Year-Old OutfielderOF

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Stowers was part of the Orioles' Opening Day roster last season, but he was sent down after a week and ultimately spent the overwhelming majority of his year back at Triple-A Norfolk. The 26-year-old posted an .875 OPS with 17 homers in 68 games with Norfolk, but he struck out at a 27 percent rate there and in 14 contests with the big club went just 2-for-30 at the dish. Stowers remains intriguing because of his power potential, but he's been passed up by some fellow youngsters on the Orioles' outfield depth chart and others are also threatening to leapfrog him. A path to fantasy viability in 2024 might require a trade to a new organization. Read Past Outlooks

Stowers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
ANALYSIS
The Marlins are facing a fifth consecutive left-handed starter (MacKenzie Gore) on Sunday, and the lefty-hitting Stowers has now hit the bench for two of those contests. Cristian Pache will enter the lineup in Stowers' stead, manning center field while batting eighth.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Stowers' strong season with Triple-A Norfolk had Orioles fans clamoring for his first taste of the majors. He slashed .264/.357/.527 with 19 home runs and 78 RBI in 95 games at Norfolk, and he ended up logging a .253/.306/.418 line in 99 plate appearances in the majors. He's a corner outfielder, and there's a job to be had in right field if Anthony Santander is deemed a better fit as the designated hitter in 2023. Stowers' power is his most intriguing tool -- he boasted an 11.3 percent barrel rate and 50 percent hard-hit rate in his limited sample with the Orioles in 2022. Barring a bad spring, he should open the year on the strong side of a platoon. Stowers received just four plate appearances and no starts versus left-handers in the majors last year, though he'll eventually have to get a longer look.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
More chances to play in Triple-A
OFBaltimore Orioles
April 9, 2023
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that the team wants Stowers to get more regular playing time in Triple-A, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Stowers was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday after James McCann was taken off the injured list. The outfielder received only six plate appearances with the Orioles after making the Opening Day roster, and he didn't pick up a hit while striking out three times. Stowers should get plenty of opportunities to play while with the Tides in Triple-A, and a strong showing in the minors could see him back with Baltimore in the summer months.
