2025 Fantasy Outlook
Garcia made the Nationals' 2024 Opening Day roster as the only left-hander out of their bullpen. The 28-year-old was one of Washington's most dependable relievers, which afforded him more high-leverage opportunities than he has previously received in his young career. Garcia racked up 13 holds while recording career-highs in games played (72) and innings pitched (59.2). His 23.5 K-BB percentage ranked 18th among qualified relievers thanks to strikeout and walk rates that were both well above-average. Garcia's 4.22 ERA is a glaring blemish, but a 2.38 FIP, 2.71 SIERA and 2.53 xERA (97th percentile) all suggest he was unlucky in that department. He also posted 98th percentile metrics in hard-hit percentage allowed (30.2 percent) and barrel percentage allowed (3.1 percent). With Washington moving on from 2024 closer Kyle Finnegan, Garcia is the top internal candidate to replace him for that role, but there's a possibility the team signs or trades for a more established closer.
