2024 Fantasy Outlook
Yet another product of the Guardians' pitching factory, Bibee burst onto the prospect radar in 2022 and followed up with a 2.98 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 141:45 K:BB across 142 innings (25 starts) in his first taste of the majors last season. He began 2023 at Triple-A Columbus but was up with Cleveland by late April, and he was impressive before hip inflammation ended his season in mid-September. A 3.66 xERA and 4.22 xFIP indicate some regression could be on the horizon, especially given he stranded a likely unsustainable 80.0 percent of baserunners (that figure would rank fourth in MLB for qualified starters). Still, the performance of the young right-hander as a rookie can't be overstated, and he should be able to improve his approach in his sophomore campaign. An equal or better effort in 2024 wouldn't be surprising in his age-24 season, especially with the Guardians' track record of building up and maintaining pitching prospects. Read Past Outlooks
Quality start despite loss
Bibee (11-8) took the loss Friday against the Rays, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out nine.
ANALYSIS
With this 91-pitch effort, Bibee collected his 10th quality start while notching his first game with more than eight strikeouts since June 19 against Seattle. He also managed to post his first walk-free start since Aug. 11. However, all three runs the Cleveland right-hander allowed came via a pair of home runs, and he's yielded a team-worst 22 long balls on the season. Overall, Bibee has pitched to a 3.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 175:41 K:BB across 160 innings. He is projected to make his next outing against the Twins at home next week.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
A fifth-round pick out of Cal State Fullerton in 2021 who signed for just under $260K, Bibee went from unranked and unheralded to one of the top-30 pitching prospects in the minors after a breakout 2022 season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound righty registered a 31.6 K-BB% at High-A and a 23.5 K-BB% at Double-A while building up to 132.2 innings. He has a complete four-pitch mix, headlined by a mid-90s fastball and a mid-80s slider. Bibee is a flyball pitcher and he probably got lucky with a 4.8% HR/FB in 73.2 innings at Double-A, but he limited the free passes at both stops. The Guardians' rotation is pretty crowded, and Bibee is unlikely to be as dominant going forward as he was in 2022, so it's not a bad idea to explore his trade value this offseason if you were fortunate enough to add him in-season.
