Victor Mederos

23-Year-Old PitcherRP
Los Angeles Angels AAA
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Despite posting an unpleasing ERA of 5.67 in 20 starts with Double-A Rocket City, the Angels did give Mederos a chance to face MLB hitters three times during the summer months. He allowed three runs over three innings in those chances, and he walked three with, you guessed it, three strikeouts. The 22-year-old does have a strong fastball that's been clocked as high as 99 mph, and he also has a slider that gets above-average grades as well. The issue has been command, and he'll need to throw more strikes to become an MLB starter. Mederos will likely begin 2024 with Triple-A Salt Lake, but a strong showing in the Pacific Coast League could see him get chances for the Angels before the season comes to a close. The Angels optioned Mederos to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old was called up from High-A Tri City in mid-August but struggled in his first big-league action with seven earned runs allowed over 5.1 innings. Mederos will now receive his first taste of the Triple-A level.
