FanDuel NBA: Christmas Day Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Christmas Day Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Point Guard
Patrick Beverley, $4,200
- There are two great options at point guard today between Stephen Curry and it makes a lot of sense to pair of them up with another cheap option at the position. Enter Beverley who has been very consistent since getting healthy and joining the starting lineup. He usually sees minutes in the low 30s and can be counted on for about 4X-5X his value considering his price.

Tyreke Evans, $7,300 - Evans is still priced as a mid-tier option yet he's been playing like a player worth $2,000 more. He's hit 48.1 and 47.6 fantasy points over his last two games and has flirted with a triple-double in both. That's the appeal here; Tyreke doesn't need to score 30 to put up a big number because he's capable of filling the stat sheet.

Shooting Guard
Klay Thompson, $7,200
- Comparing Thompson to someone like Dwyane Wade ($7,100) makes him seem like a great value. Klay has the ability to go off at any time, especially at home, and has games of 40.6, 50.6 and 54.4 fantasy points in three of his last five starts. An interesting GPP strategy would be to stack this game and cross your fingers for a high scoring affair that could go to overtime.

J.J. Redick, $4,600 - This game should be a blowout considering the difference in talent level between the two teams. Redick has been a consistent play as of late scoring at least 14 points in each of his last six games. This appears to be an easy contest for the Clipper against the Lakers so J.J. should easily hit 20 fantasy points as he's done in five of his last six games.

Small Forward
Justise Winslow, $3,500
- This pick is a little bit of a gamble given that the floor can be pretty low. However, Winslow should play minutes in the mid-20s and the Pelicans (outside of Anthony Davis) aren't a great defensive team. The attraction here is the minimum price and Winslow has 16.1, 22.6, 19.9 and 20.1 fantasy points in four of his last eight games. In full disclosure, the other four games were clunkers so there is risk here. Still, he has the potential to return 5X-6X his value and opens up a lot of cap space.

Luol Deng, $4,700 - There's not a whole lot that flashy about Deng and he has a limited upside. Of course, there are few players at the price that have the upside of a 40-fantasy point effort. Deng has established a nice floor however scoring at least 15.7 fantasy points in each of his last six games and scoring 24.3 fantasy points or more in three of those contests. With so many studs to try and get into your lineup today, Deng is an excellent value to match them up with.

Power Forward
Boris Diaw, $3,600
- Normally you want to follow the minutes in DFS hoops but there are the occasional players to roster who play secondary roles. Diaw usually plays around 20 minutes and has games of 15.3, 16.5 and 21.1 fantasy points in three of his last four. This should be a faster paced game in Houston helping Diaw's fantasy prospects.

Taj Gibson, $4,700 - Gibson has seen an uptick in minutes since entering the starting lineup and with Joakim Noah out for the next couple of weeks those minutes aren't going to diminish. The Bulls are playing at a faster pace this season and the Thunder are a team that can get up and down the court. Bobby Portis ($3,800) is a gamble but is part of the rotation now.

Center
Dwight Howard, $7,400
- In the past his price has been much higher than this and despite a tough matchup against the Spurs he's very much in play. He logged 36 minutes Wednesday night and it doesn't hurt that his coach came out this week and said he needs to be more involved in the offense. Howard has games of 38.5 and 40.8 fantasy points in two of his last four showing what his upside can be.
