FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Jordan Clarkson, LAL at OKC ($4,400) – This is an interesting price given it's a little unknown how the Lakers' second unit is going to function without Lou Williams. The loss of him should mean a higher usage rate for Clarkson, who could pick up some extra minutes as well. On the season Clarkson is averaging 21 fantasy points per game, a number that would be 4.8X value at this price. The expected higher usage rate without Clarkson would suggest he'll be a better value than that.

Yogi Ferrell, DAL at MIN ($5,500) – With Dallas allowing Deron Williams his freedom to go play somewhere else (likely Cleveland), it's been Yogi's show to run from the point for the rest of the season. In 10 games with Dallas, Ferrell has been nothing short of impressive, contributing at least 17.4 fantasy points in each contest and while eclipsing 24 in seven of those. His minutes are secure in the mid-to-upper 30s, and Ricky Rubio (Friday's opponent) has never been known for his defense.

Kris Middleton, MIL vs UTA ($4,600) – Middleton is a risky proposition given he doesn't play a lot of minutes (yet), and Utah isn't a team to pick on for DFS purposes. That being said, he's one of the top offensive options with Jabari Parker out for the season and he has the ability to contribute in multiple categories. Case in point, Middleton had 20 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals in the Bucks' final game before the break, resulting in 39.1 fantasy points. He's in play tonight and going forward, especially if his minutes increase.

Bobby Portis, CHI vs PHO ($4,200) – The Taj Gibson era has ended in Chicago, meaning there should be plenty of minutes for Portis going forward. In two of his last three games Portis had 28.6 and 23.2 fantasy points, and those two saw him play 26 and 31 minutes, respectively. Phoenix is a good matchup as well, as they've given up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing power forwards.

Andre Roberson, OKC vs LAL ($4,300) – Roberson was on a nice run before the break and is a good spot tonight against the hapless Lakers. Outside of a dud against Washington (all of OKC had a bad game), Roberson scored 22.4, 26.7, 22.9, 31.7 and 34.7 fantasy points in his last five games. At this price, that shows a floor of 5.2X and a ceiling of 8X. Roberson's appeal is that he's not scoring-dependent and his ability to fill the stat sheet typically gets him to value each game.

Dario Saric, PHI vs WAS ($6,200) – This isn't the cheapest price on Saric, but chances are this is one of the last times to get him this cheap. Before the All-Star break he scored 34.2, 34.7, 37.2 and 43.1 fantasy points over his last four games and the absence of Joel Embiid (next four games) and Nerlens Noel (traded to Dallas) is only going to increase Saric's fantasy value.

Steven Adams, OKC vs LAL ($6,000) – Adams has improved tremendously on offense since last season and the chemistry between he and Russell Westbrook on the pick-and-roll is obvious. His minutes are secure in the 30s and he may see an uptick with the trade of Joffrey Lauvergne and Taj Gibson likely not playing. The Lakers are a great team to pick on, giving up the second most fantasy points to opposing centers on the season.

Al Horford, BOS at TOR ($6,300) – Horford's fantasy production tailed off just before the break, finishing his last three games with 15.9, 21 and 23 fantasy points. However, on the season he's averaged 32.7 fantasy points and this is a good time to buy-low, as his price is at the lowest of the season. Horford's minutes should be in the low 30s, and he had a run from January to February where he scored between 24.6-46.1 fantasy points over a 15-game stretch.
