FanDuel NBA: Sunday-Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

This contest features a Game 7 and a Game 1, the two extremes in a playoff situation. The Game 7 pits the Celtics against the Wizards for the 11th time this season, with the home team having won each of the previous 10 games. Out west, the Spurs head to Oakland to face a Warriors team that is undefeated in the postseason thus far. Kawhi Leonard (ankle) is set to play, and there are a lot of intriguing matchups to explore. Let's take a look at some player recommendations…

Isaiah Thomas, BOS vs WAS ($9000): Thomas is averaging almost 49 fantasy points in three games in Boston in this series. He only scored 31.1 fantasy points in his last home game, but that was in a blowout win where he didn't have to exert as much effort. On Monday, in a Game 7, he is likely to called upon to play his absolute best.

Avery Bradley, BOS vs WAS ($6000): Bradley injured his hip in the first half of Game 2 but came back to finish with 25.3 fantasy points. He then went on to average only 11.2 fantasy points in the next two games. However, his hip seems to have healed based upon his last two outings of 37.7 and 38.1 fantasy points.

Patty Mills, SA at GS ($5200): Mills scored 28.2 and 29.1 fantasy points in the last two games of the previous series against the Rockets in his role as the primary point guard. He will be expected to maintain that role, and likely that level of production, moving into the new series against the Warriors.

Kevin Durant, GS vs SA ($9900): Durant scored 51.7 and 57.1 fantasy points in Games 2 and 3 against the Jazz. He only scored 32.7 fantasy points in Game 4, but that was a blowout win in which he only played 30 minutes. He scored over 50 fantasy points in his only regular season game against the Spurs, helping to solidify his expected value for Sunday.

LaMarcus Aldridge, SA at GS ($7800): Aldridge woke up in a big way over the last four games of the series against the Rockets, with three games between 36.3 and 49.9 fantasy points in his last four. Aldridge also played well in two outings against the Warriors in the regular season, averaging more than 40 fantasy points.

Markieff Morris, WAS at BOS ($5500): Morris has scored more than 31 fantasy points in four of his last seven games. He scored 33.2 fantasy points in Game 6, which was also an elimination game for the Wizards, and will likely be relied upon in a similar way in Game 7.

Al Horford, BOS vs WAS ($8100): Horford scored 31.7 fantasy points in Game 6, the best of his three outings in Washington in this series. However, he has scored 36.9, 41.7 and 45.8 fantasy points in the three series games in Boston, which suggests that he has an expected value near 40 fantasy points in Monday's Game 7 in Boston.

Pau Gasol, SA at GS ($6100): Gasol moved into the starting lineup in Game 2 of the Rockets series and has gone on to score between 28.8 and 36.1 fantasy points in four of the last five games. The biggest weakness for Gasol was when the Rockets used their small-ball lineup, which in Games 4 and 5 ate into Gasol's minutes. The Warriors have an excellent small-ball lineup as well, so it's worth considering whether this could limit his minutes again.

Marcin Gortat, WAS at BOS ($5300): Gortat has averaged almost 22 fantasy points in his last three games against the Celtics, but did averaged around 37 fantasy points in the first three games of the series. His expected value is somewhere between the two, but he does have the upside exhibited early in the series.
