FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Starting Sunday, we're turning our weekly FanDuel NBA value plays article into an actual daily article. So be sure to check back here on Monday and every day thereafter for some suggested value plays on FanDuel each day. As the daily games industry grows, we're happy to create new content and tools to use on RotoWire. If you've never taken a good look through all of our current tools, I'd suggest taking a look at our Lineup Optimizer, Defense vs. Position stats, Daily Lineups, and Value Report to get started, and of course, always read this article to see who our experts are considering using each day.

Value Plays of the Day

Point Guard

Shabazz Napier, MIA, $3500 – It's assumed Napier will start again Sunday. He's been given the start in the backcourt next to Mario Chalmers in each of the alst three games that Dwyane Wade has missed recently, including Friday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He played just 17 minutes Friday, but in his two previous starts, Napier played 38 and 33 minutes. At $3500, he's worth the gamble if you're looking to stack more high-salaried players.

Shooting Guard

Wayne Ellington, LAL, $5200 – While he isn't the sexiest name in the player pool, Ellington has taken over the starting shooting guard role with Kobe Bryant (shoulder) out for the season. He's taken hold of the new role over the last two games, posting FanDuel point totals of 40.1 and 33.5. While those point totals are likely much better than what Ellington will end up averaging over the rest of the season, it's worth using him as long as the Lakers are giving him tons of shots.

Small Forward

James Ennis, MIA, $3500 – Ennis played 32 minutes off the bench in Friday's loss to the Mavericks. He is worth a flier Sunday with both Wade and Luol Deng out. Ennis was drafted by the Heat two years ago but spent last season playing overseas. There has been a quite buzz surrounding him since training camp, and if the Heat continue to struggle this season, as they sit in just the seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings, Ennis could become a more regular daily games option.

Power Forward

Jared Sullinger, BOS, $6700 – While Sullinger isn't the most consistent option from game to game, he does offer the great quality of having both a fairly high floor and exceptional ceiling. Over his last 10 games, Sullinger has posted a FanDuel point total as high as 46.5 points and as low as 22.3 points. At $6700, and based on the recent news that coach Brad Stevens has asked Sullinger to do more on offense recently, Sullinger is a more-than-interesting option on a two-game slate.

Center

Hassan Whiteside, MIA, $6200 – Whiteside has put up FanDuel point totals of 53.6, 36.7, and 45.8 over his last three games, two of which have been starts. As long as Whiteside's salary on FanDuel remains in the mid-range slot, he needs to continue being used. While his numbers are unsustainable, teams haven't adapted to his style of play, yet, and until they do, Whiteside is as much of a must-play as we've seen this season.
