FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Wednesday is an action packed night in the NBA, with 24 teams on display. There's action across the board, with some excellent match-ups, injury replacement value plays and players showing they can produce in new, larger roles. Let's look into it.

GUARDS

James Harden, HOU at NY ($11,000): Harden has settled back into his role from last season, averaging 26.3 points with 9.8 assists, 5.3 boards and 3.0 combined steals and blocks in his last four games. He has produced over 50 fantasy points in three of those four games, giving him strong momentum going into Wednesday's bout against the Knicks.

Kyle Lowry, TOR at DEN ($7,500): Lowry had a terrible start to the season, but has been showing signs of life for the past week. In his last three games, he is averaging 14.7 points with 9.0 assists, 8.0 boards and 1.7 combined steals/blocks with one triple-double and another double-double. These are the kinds of things we've come to expect from Lowry through the years, suggesting that he is finding his form ahead of Wednesday's game with the Nuggets.

T.J. McConnell, PHI vs ATL ($5,000): With Markelle Fultz out, McConnell has moved back into starter's minutes for the 76ers in the last week, responding with averages of 10.7 points, 7.3 assists, 4.0 boards and 3.3 combined steals/blocks over his last three games at a still value price.

FORWARDS

Kristaps Porzingis, NY vs HOU ($9,700): Porzingis has exploded in his last three games, averaging 33.3 points with 9.3 boards and 2.7 blocks in that stretch. When he's playing at this level, taking advantage of both his skill and his massive 7-3 frame with shocking agility, there isn't a lot that opponents can do to slow him down.

Otto Porter, WAS vs PHO ($7,300): Porter is playing at his best to start the season, averaging 18.7 points with 7.5 boards, two assists and a grip of steals. On a fantasy front, he has produced 47 or more fantasy points in three of his last five games, and has that potential on Wednesday as long as the game doesn't become a blowout.

Jonathon Simmons, ORL at MEM ($5,000): Simmons' role in the Magic offense continues to grow, and in the last two games he is averaging 23.5 points, 5.0 boards, 3.5 assists and 2.5 combined blocks/steals in 30 minutes. He has a tough matchup against the Grizzlies, but his demonstrated ability to produce volume at a value price keeps him worthy of this slot.

CENTERS

Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN at NO ($9,800): In another battle of Kentucky bigs, Karl-Anthony Towns will face off with DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. In the past, these match-ups have produced video game numbers. The only exceptions have been due to foul trouble, and even then the production flows while everyone is on the court. Towns has produced 26.5 points, 15.5 boards and 3.5 blocks over his last two games, numbers not that far off his season average from last year.

Joel Embiid, PHI vs ATL ($8,200): Embiid is still restricted to play less than 30 minutes a night, but his per-minute production is so high that it hardly matters. He has scored between 21 and 30 points in four straight games, to go along with 8.3 boards, 3.0 assists and 2.0 combined blocks/steals over that stretch.

Domantas Sabonis, IND at CLE ($6,000): Sabonis has been starting in place of Myles Turner (concussion), and he's been playing very well. In his last two games, Sabonis has averaged 16 points, 14 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 28 minutes with double-doubles in each game. He has now grabbed double-digit rebounds in five straight games, with four double-doubles in that span. Sabonis looks like a consistent impact player, at least until Turner returns.
