Nembhard has progressed massively since being selected in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft. Even though he's capable of playing both point guard and shooting guard, he has settled as Tyrese Haliburton's partner in the Pacers' backcourt, and he'll remain as such for years to come after signing a three-year extension worth $59 million in the offseason. Nembhard delivered solid numbers in the 2023-24 regular season, averaging 9.2 points, 4.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 three-pointers in 25.0 minutes. However, his numbers spiked during the playoffs, posting 14.9 points, 5.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 32.6 minutes per contest, becoming the fourth player in NBA history to shoot at least 55 percent from the floor and 45 percent from three-point range in a single postseason. Nembhard's established role as a starter, solid three-point shooting numbers and passing ability make him a solid pickup across all formats even though he has a secondary role in an offensive scheme that also features Haliburton, Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner. Nembhard should be involved enough to be a reliable fantasy contributor in all formats despite not recording eye-popping stats most nights. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Nembhard was born on Jan. 16, 2000, in Aurora, Ontario, Canada. Nembhard committed to the University of Florida after attending Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida. In his college freshman season with the Gators, he started every game and tallied the fourth-highest freshman assist total in school history. After averaging 8.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists, and finishing fifth in the SEC in assist-turnover ratio, Nembhard was named to the conference all-Freshman team. As a sophomore, he averaged 11.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game and led the SEC with a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio. Following the season he declared for the 2020 NBA draft but hired an NCAA-certified agent, allowing him the option to return to Florida. On May 30, 2020, Nembhard withdrew from the draft and entered the NCAA transfer portal where he would commit to Gonzaga. He served as a spark plug off the bench, averaging 9.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game for a bulldogs team that entered its conference tournament undefeated. Nembhard was named the West Coast Conference's inaugural Sixth Man of the Year and was also named to the all-conference second team. As a senior, Nembhard was named to the First Team All-WCC. On April 21, 2022, Nembhard declared for the 2022 NBA draft, forgoing his remaining college eligibility. He was selected in the second round with the 31st overall pick by the Indiana Pacers in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Knee
November 10, 2024
Coach Rick Carlisle said Sunday that Nembhard (knee) will miss at least two weeks, Tony East of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS With Nembhard and Aaron Nesmith (ankle) sidelined for the foreseeable future, Bennedict Mathurin, Ben Sheppard, Jarace Walker and Quenton Jackson are all candidates for increased roles moving forward. Nembhard initially tried to play through the knee soreness, and it's unclear if he suffered a setback or just wasn't performing up to standards.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Nembhard surprised many people during his rookie season, playing a larger role than anyone would have expected. In 27.6 minutes per night, he compiled averages of 9.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 three-pointers. Those numbers had him just outside the top 200 in nine-category formats, while there were times throughout the season that he earned a spot on a lot of standard league rosters. Although the Pacers have bolstered their roster this offseason, Nembhard still figures to play meaningful minutes on most nights. His ceiling remains somewhat limited due to the fact he will be coming off the bench behind Buddy Hield, Bennedict Mathurin and Bruce Brown. He isn't someone who needs to be prioritized in standard leagues but should hold his own in deeper formats.

Spurs enquired about him
GIndiana Pacers
July 24, 2024
The Spurs considered the possibility of acquiring Nembhard during the offseason in an attempt to bolster their backcourt, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
ANALYSIS The Spurs attempted to acquire a young point guard before ultimately deciding to sign Chris Paul, and Nembhard was one of the players they pursued, but the approach was unsuccessful. The Pacers always considered Nembhard a key player in their long-term future, and they backed that up when they signed him to a three-year contract extension July 24.
