Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Bol Manute Bol was born in 1999 in Khartoum, Sudan. His mother is Ajoke Deng and his father is the late Manute Bol. Manute played 10 seasons in the NBA for the Bullets, Warriors, 76ers and the Heat. His father was also known for his humanitarian efforts in his native Sudan. Due to political troubles in Sudan, Bol Bol and his family migrated from Sudan to Egypt and finally the United States in 2002. Bol Bol was raised in Connecticut and Kansas. He played his high school basketball at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, then Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park, Kansas, and finally Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. Bol Bol is one of 11 children. You can follow the tall center on both Twitter and Instagram (@BolBol). Bol's collegiate career was as brief as he is tall. The 7-foot-2 center played in just nine games for Oregon before injuring his foot and missing the rest of the season. Even in that handful of contests, Bol showed off a sweet jumper. He scored at least 12 points in every game and had four double-doubles. Manute's son had 23 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks in his second game in a win over Eastern Washington. The center had his best scoring game in a loss to Texas Southern, scoring 32 points to go along with 11 boards. He also used his size well on defense by recording at least three blocks in six games. On the season, Bol averaged 21.0 points on 56.1 percent shooting, 9.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. He also garnered a 52.0 percent success rate on three-point attempts. The second-generation basketball star played his last game on Dec. 12 and declared for the 2019 NBA Draft soon thereafter.

December 21, 2024
Bol (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS Bol is dealing with a left knee contusion and will be unavailable for the Suns on Saturday. Bol hasn't been part of the Suns rotation recently, so his absence shouldn't have much of a rotational impact. His next chance to play will come Monday at Denver.

Despite being loaded in the frontcourt, the Magic opted to sign Bol to a new contract. Since being drafted in 2019, Bol has yet to play a meaningful role, struggling to crack the rotation. Given his obvious limitations, there is little reason to think anything changes moving forward, making Bol a non-factor in all fantasy formats.
Bol appeared in just seven games during his rookie season -- all in the Orlando bubble. In 12.4 minutes per game, the lanky center averaged 5.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 combined steals-plus-blocks. He also went 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. Despite some nice showings, the 21-year-old is still more myth than man, and he will truly have to earn every minute for the contending Nuggets. In front of him are Nikola Jokic, Paul Millsap and JaMychal Green and, possibly, Michael Porter Jr. if the Nuggets have any plans of trying Bol at power forward. Ultimately, this probably will not be the year Bol breaks into major fantasy relevance. Managers who have Bol in keeper or dynasty formats should still hang tight, however.
Bol enters the NBA with plenty of hype, as he was the sixth-ranked high school recruit in the 2018 class. The 7-foot-2, 235-pound son of former NBA player Manute Bol, Bol appeared in nine games for Oregon last season before suffering a season-ending foot injury. In his limited action, he averaged 21.0 points (56.1 FG%, 52.0 3P%, 75.7 FT%), 9.6 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.0 assist across 29.8 minutes. Questions surrounding Bol's health and frame caused him to slip to the 44th overall pick, but the Nuggets were willing to take the risks that late in the draft. Considering the Nuggets have one of the deepest rosters in the league and already have multiple options at backup center, it's unlikely Bol will see much action at the NBA level as a rookie. He's someone to consider in dynasty formats, but there's little justification for even taking him in a deep redraft league this season.

Bol is expected to "contribute in Phoenix's rotation as a key member of the second unit," Evan Sidery of Forbes.com reports.
ANALYSIS Bol will be experimented with as a "jumbo stretch-four alongside Jusuf Nurkic," per Sidery. While this may seem surprising for the 7-foot-2 unicorn, Bol spent 61.0 percent of his minutes at the power forward position last year as well over 43 regular-season games. Nonetheless, new coach Mike Budenholzer having a similar vision is notable.
