Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Williams was moderately productive during his rookie season, taking advantage of a season-ending injury to Chet Holmgren before any real basketball had been played. He finished just outside the top 250 in standard leagues, averaging 5.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.6 steals. With Holmgren now fully healthy and slated to assume the starting center role, the short-term outlook for Williams is far from positive. It is likely he will remain in the rotation, although there is almost no way he exceeds the 18.9 minutes per game he saw last season. Given what we know, he should only be considered in very deep formats.
A two-year big out of Arkansas, Williams was selected by the Thunder with the 34th overall pick in the 2022 Draft. He's a dirty-work player and solid defender, but his athleticism is a question, as is his shooting. OKC is an excellent place to develop, but Williams may spend a lot of time in the G League. In Summer League, he averaged 3.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.6 steals in 18.1 minutes.

Could open season in expanded role
COklahoma City Thunder
September 23, 2024
Williams is a candidate to begin the 2024-25 season as a part of the team's rotation while Kenrich Williams recovers from knee surgery, Clemente Almanza of the OKC Thunder Wire reports.
ANALYSIS Almanza notes that Williams is one of the most obvious choices to fill in while Kenrich Williams is on the mend, as he was a starter in the playoffs during his rookie season before falling into a reserve role last year behind a plethora of depth. Williams appeared in 69 regular-season games a year ago, averaging 4.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 13.0 minutes.
