Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Toscano-Anderson was born April 10, 1993 in Oakland. He is the son of Patricia Toscano, has two brothers (Avery and Andrew) and one sister (Ariana). Toscano-Anderson attended Castro Valley High School, where he averaged 16.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in his senior season and took the team to the state title game. He continued his basketball career at Marquette, where he majored in criminology and law studies. After college he went on to play in the top professional basketball league in Mexico for several seasons. Toscano-Anderson has also appeared for the Mexican national team, seeing action in the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Anderson played four seasons of college ball at Marquette, appearing in 121 games (77 starts). He was used sparingly as a freshman in 2011-12, but moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore despite logging 13.0 minutes per contest. That year saw the most team success during Anderson's time with the program, as Marquette made it to the Elite Eight before losing to Syracuse. Anderson's best statistical year came as a senior, when he averaged 8.3 points and 5.7 rebounds on a career-best 49.0 percent shooting. He had a career-high 23 points on Nov. 22 of that season against Omaha. Anderson was not drafted out of college but spent the next four years in the top professional league in Mexico.

Earns double-double Tuesday
FMexico City Capitanes   G League
November 19, 2024
Toscano-Anderson recorded 17 points (5-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 44 minutes in Tuesday's 120-115 G League loss to the Austin Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Toscano-Anderson made a little more than his usual contribution to achieve his first double-double of the campaign in his sixth start. The forward has posted double-digit scoring totals in every match this season without deviating much from his average of 15.7 points per game. He should retain all-around value heading into a four-game homestand.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
Toscano-Anderson's role with the Warriors declined during the 2021-22 campaign, logging a career-low 13.6 minutes per game over his 73 appearances. He signed with the Lakers for the vet minimum this offseason and will serve as a role player. He has a chance to insert himself in the starting five, even with the team's acquisition of Patrick Beverley. However, Austin Reaves and Thomas Bryant also represent starting options depending on the direction head coach Darvin Ham decides to go. If Toscano-Anderson can lock down a role, he could attract managers in deeper league formats, given his 116 ranking in fantasy production per 36 minutes last season. He's also finished around the 200 mark in per-game fantasy production in the two campaigns before 2021-22.
Toscano-Anderson garnered relatively consistent run on the wing for the Warriors last season. The second-year pro averaged 5.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 20.9 minutes. His efficiency was impressive, as he shot 57.9 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from three for a 66.7 effective field-goal percentage. The result was a per-game fantasy rank of 186. Heading into 2021-22, Toscano-Anderson's role is set to be reduced. The Warriors added quality depth during the offseason -- Andre Iguodala, Otto Porter, Nemanja Bjelica and rookies Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody -- and Klay Thompson is expected to make his return around Christmas. It seems possible, if not likely, that Toscano-Anderson will no longer be an every-game player for Golden State. Assuming that's the case, he should be avoided in almost all fantasy formats.
