$Contract converted to a two-year standard NBA contract in February of 2025.
Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Post was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands and won the 2017-18 Dutch National U18 Championship as the team's starting center. In 2018-19, he played for the Alba Berlin Youth Club in Germany. Following that campaign, he moved to the United States, playing his freshman and sophomore years at Mississippi State. As a sophomore, he was a regular rotation player, but saw just 8.7 minutes per game. He transferred to Boston College in 2021-22 for his junior year and made some waves, earning an ACC All-Tournament Second Team nod. As a senior, Post started 14 of 19 appearances and was named the ACC Most Improved Player after posting 15.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 25.9 minutes with 35 starts. He was once again named to the ACC All-Tournament Second Team, but also added ACC All-Second Team and ACC All-Defensive Team honors. He averaged 17.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 blocks in 31.9 minutes. Post is a traditionally sized center with three-and-D upside. Over his past two seasons at BC, he went 73-for-170 (43%) from distance. That translated to the free-throw line, where he shot 144-for-173 (83%). On the block, he uses his size and strength to make basic hook shots and drop steps. However, his limited athleticism doesn't make him a top-shelf lob threat. It also doesn't help on defense, where he struggles outside of the paint. Post, for his size, is also simply an adequate rebounder. Because of his limited mobility but three-and-D upside, Post has shades of current Brook Lopez or Al Horford to his game. Post also improved his passing as a fifth-year senior, giving him some potential as the occasional offensive hub, especially on handoff actions at the top of the three-point line. A potential second-round pick, Post will probably need reps in the NBA G League before he turns into a reliable backup big.
Efficient from second unit
CGolden State Warriors
February 11, 2025
Post closed Monday's 125-111 victory over the Bucks with 13 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 15 minutes off the bench.
ANALYSIS After getting the start Saturday in Jimmy Butler's debut for the Warriors, Post shifted to the second unit Monday while Moses Moody got a look in the starting five. The rookie center delivered an incredibly efficient scoring performance off the bench, and he's pushed his way into Golden State's frontcourt rotation by scoring in double digits in five of the last 10 games (six starts), averaging 10.1 points, 4.3 boards, 2.1 assists and 2.1 threes in 17.7 minutes a contest over that stretch. Coach Steve Kerr will likely continue to shuffle his lineup in the short term to find the best fit around Butler, but Post seems to have secured a consistent workload regardless.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to feature in G League
CGolden State Warriors
October 5, 2024
Post is expected to spend most of the 2024-25 season with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League instead of competing for a spot in Golden State's rotation, head coach Steve Kerr told Anthony Slater of The Athletic. "He's got a ways to go," Kerr said of Post when asked about his chances of playing in the NBA soon. "I'm not anticipating it this year. I think he'll be in Santa Cruz a lot."
ANALYSIS Post was drafted by the Thunder in the 2024 NBA Draft and was later acquired by the Warriors, but it seems Golden State believes the big man out of Boston College needs to continue developing before being a reliable NBA player. Post has the potential to be a stretch five as he continues to develop, but Kerr doesn't see the big man playing a substantial role for the Warriors in the near future.
