DeVries seemingly believes in Hansberry's collegiate potential, as was such for Illinois when the Fighting Illini's basketball program successfully recruited him before their 2023-24 season. However, they excelled then mostly without him, who averaged fewer than eight minutes across his 19 games. But unlike Illinois, West Virginia's basketball program has fewer options who are proven, hence why Hansberry potentially having a "breakout season" is absolutely not out of the question.
