2024 Tournament PreviewThe strong Mountain West Conference sent six teams to the NCAA Tournament, and Utah State is arguably the best of the bunch, even though it was bounced from the conference tournament in the semifinals. Top 70 in both offensive and defensive efficiency (per KenPom), the Aggies are particularly suffocating on the perimeter where they hold opponents to 29.0 percent shooting, third lowest in the nation. They also control the defensive boards, ranking 42nd in rebounding rate. The offense runs through superstar center Great Osobor (18.0 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 1.5 bpg), a 6-8 Montana State transfer with 15 double-doubles in a breakout campaign. Outside shooting leaves much to be desired, as Utah State ranks 268th nationally, with senior guards Darius Brown II (39.5 percent) and Ian Martinez (37.8 percent) the only threats, but that's a relatively minor concern. The Aggies will go as far as Osobor takes them.
