College Football DFS: Friday Slate, Week 11

This article is part of our College Football DFS: Friday Slate series.

We've got a small college football slate for Friday night, with obvious favorites in both contests.

SLATE OVERVIEW

Cincinnati (-23) @ South Florida O/U: 57.5

Boise State (-13) vs. Wyoming O/U: 48.5

QUARTERBACK

Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati (DK $8,400, FD $12,000) @ South Florida

Every win has to be a convincing one for the Bearcats down the stretch, so I am not worried about this blowout when it comes to Ridder. The quarterback has thrown 24 touchdowns for the title contenders and just four interceptions, as the team's offense has kept their mistakes to a minimum. His salary is a little inflated, but he still emerges as a clear choice when considering USF's ineffective pass defense (253 yards per game, ranked 255th nationally).

Hank Bachmeier, Boise State (DK $6,800, FD $9,400) vs. Wyoming

Since there is a small QB controversy in Wyoming, we aren't sure who will get the start tonight. Once we get word, the eventual starter would be a good contrarian add. If you don't have time to make that call, Bachmeier is the next-best safe choice at the position. Wyoming has a stingy defense, but the Broncos will use their running game to open up lanes for their receivers. Bachmeier has tossed nine touchdowns in the past three games, and his excellent receiving corps should be able to bail him out against a secondary that usually makes life tough for opposing offenses.

RUNNING BACK

Jerome Ford (undisclosed) has a questionable tag for the Bearcats tonight. Even

RUNNING BACK

Jerome Ford (undisclosed) has a questionable tag for the Bearcats tonight. Even if he can go, I imagine they might sit Ford if the game gets out of hand. Rather than spend up on him if he starts, it's a smarter move pivoting to Ryan Montgomery (DK $3,000, FD $8,500), who saw the majority of carries once Ford limped off. FanDuel has sniffed out the value here and priced him, but DraftKings hasn't, which makes him an excellent bargain on that site.

George Holani, Boise State (DK $4,500, FD $7,800) vs. Wyoming

Holani turned on the gas last week against Fresno State, going for 117 rushing yards and 69 receiving yards.  It was his best performance of the season by a mile, so I am willing to go on recency and assume that his usage will remain high. Cyrus Habibi-Liko (DK $4,800, FD $7,500)has been the more consistent running back over the past month, so if you seek a more reliable floor, he may be your preferred option.

Titus Swen, Wyoming (DK $4,900, FD $6,500) @ Boise State

Xazavian Valladay is the top Cowboy in the backfield, but Swen exploded for 166 yards on 21 rushes last week against Colorado State. If we find ourselves overspending down the stretch, pivoting to Swen over Valaday makes sense. The Broncos also have a pretty forgiving run defense, so both backs should have plenty of opportunities.

Also consider: Jaren Mangham, South Florida (DK $6,500, FD $6,800)

WIDE RECEIVER

Khalil Shakir, Boise State (DK $7,400, FD $10,000) vs. Wyoming

I'm not a big fan of the matchup, but Shakir's numbers are head and shoulders above the rest of the receiver pool, and despite the lofty salary, he has to get a motion as an anchor for your roster. Shakir has never caught fewer than four passes in a game this season, and he has a chance to break 1,000 yards receiving with a good game tonight. He also has five touchdowns to his credit.  The Broncos have also been giving him Wildcat snaps recently, allowing him for opportunities on the ground as well.

Xavier Weaver, South Florida (DK $5,400, FD $6,800) vs. Cincinnati

The Bulls will need a solid connection between Timmy McClain and Weaver if they hope to stay competitive in this game. McClain has struggled throughout the year but put up one of his better performances last week, and Weaver followed along in kind with a nice game as well. Although Weaver has only scored two touchdowns this season, his yardage numbers have been very steady.

Josh Whyle, Cincinnati (DK $5,000, FD $6,100) @ South Florida

I'm certainly not ignoring Alec Pierce (DK $6,500, FD $8,700), but Whyte has grabbed five of Desmond Ridder's touchdown passes, and the tight end is due for another good performance after underperforming against Tulsa. His lack of usage may have been one reason why the Bearcats struggled offensively at various points in the game, so I expect his usage to increase significantly. While we are discussing Bearcats receivers, Michael Young (DK $3,900, FD $6,000) is another guy who has been in Ridder's sights recently. He scored a touchdown last week against Tulsa.

Also consider: Isaiah Neyor, Wyoming (DK $6,000, FD $8,400)
