Opting out, ending college career
Cisco (lower body) announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he will opt out of the 2020 season and begin preparations for the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Syracuse head coach Dino Babers had already announced earlier in the week that Cisco would miss the remainder of the season with the lower-body injury he sustained Sept. 26, though the junior safety would have still retained two more years of eligibility beginning in 2021. Rather than conducting his rehab under team supervision, however, Cisco has instead opted to give up his remaining eligibility to enter the professional ranks. Despite playing in just two games this fall, Cisco should still have a decent chance at getting drafted if he receives a clean bill of health by the spring. Cisco was a preseason first-team Associated Press All-American after racking up 12 interceptions through his first two seasons, the most of any FBS player during that span.
