Set to declare for draft
December 26, 2020
Evans is expected to forgo his remaining eligibility at Michigan to enter the 2021 NFL Draft, Rainer Sabin of the Detroit Free Press reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing the entire 2019 season while turning his focus to his academics, Evans was reinstated to the program ahead of the 2020 campaign. Though Evans had previously served as Michigan's lead back as a redshirt freshman in 2017, he was limited to a minor rotational role as a fifth-year senior, garnering only 16 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown to go with nine receptions for 87 yards. With Hassan Haskins, Zach Charbonnet and Blake Corum still on hand for the Wolverines in 2021, Evans wouldn't have had much to gain by sticking around in Ann Arbor.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2018
2017
Arguably the most hyped of the Michigan trio of tailbacks in 2018, Evans finally displayed some of the talent that made him a four-star recruit out of high school. He worked behind Karan Higdon in the running back rotation, but Evans still managed 135 totes for 685 yards and two touchdowns and added a position-best 16 grabs for 157 yards and another score. Higdon remains on campus for the Wolverines for 2018, but Evans should get his fair share of touches in the backfield and will likely be the top pass-catching back once again.
Evans enters this season as Michigan's most productive returning back after De'Veon Smith exhausted his eligibility, having rushed for 614 yards on just 88 carries (6.98 YPC). The issue with Evans' upside is not unlike what any Michigan back has faced since Jim Harbaugh took the reins as the head coach: opportunity. The Wolverines' running back depth chart is littered with starter-level talent, which affords the offense with the ability to be highly situation-specific with its running back personnel. With that, Evans may be Michigan's leading rusher this season, but he may be held to well under 15 carries per game given team and game flow contexts.
