Evan Stewart

Wide ReceiverWR
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Being regarded as the number one receiver in the transfer portal is not a small task, and Stewart chose an exciting team as his suitor after logging 1,163 receiving yards and six touchdowns across 18 total games with Texas A&M. He'll team up with transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who has amassed 55 touchdown passes in his last two seasons at Oklahoma before heading to Eugene. Additionally, Troy Franklin heads to the NFL, opening numerous targets for Stewart to absorb alongside returning senior Tez Johnson. Even so, Oregon's offense should produce enough to make both wideouts top-tier options in fantasy leagues during the 2024 campaign. Read Past Outlooks
Shows up versus Boise State
September 8, 2024
Stewart notched five receptions (on seven targets) for 112 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 37-34 win versus Boise State.
ANALYSIS
Stewart's production bounced back after a lackluster Week 1 debut with Oregon when he caught three of five targets for just 15 yards. The Texas A&M transfer led the team in catches, targets and receiving yards after he appeared to fall to the wayside behind Tez Johnson last week. Stewart also showcased his elite vertical route-running with receptions of 67 and 34 yards - the latter of which was a walk-in touchdown. However, his other three catches went for three, six and one yard, and his apparent lack of usage in the intermediate passing game could mean he's a boom-of-bust proposition for fantasy moving forward this year. He'll look to wrack up more long catches at Oregon State this coming Saturday.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Stewart led the Aggies in receiving as a true freshman, which was no small feat considering the presence of other playmakers like Ainias Smith, Moose Muhammed and running back Devon Achane. Smith was not healthy last season, which may have played a role, and he does return in 2023. So does Muhammed. However, Stewart was the clearcut favorite target of whichever quarterback lined up under center in 2022. There is still uncertainty at quarterback heading into the season for A&M; Connor Weigman is the frontrunner, but Max Johnson remains as well. Haynes King has moved on to Georgia Tech. Still, the fact that Stewart snagged 53 receptions for 649 yards in his first collegiate season, which was otherwise extremely rocky and disappointing from a team perspective, bodes well for his prospects as a sophomore in 2023.
