The returning Blue Devil will be relegated to second string duties as Texas transfer Murphy mans the rock. Loftis appeared in six games during the 2023 campaign, completing 91 of 163 passes (55.8 percent) for 1,006 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He'll start out the season as the backup; though, anything can happen in the next few months.
