Caps career in impressive fashion
December 29, 2018
Stidham completed 15 of 21 attempts for 373 yards and five touchdowns and ran once for six yards Friday in Auburn's 63-14 win over Purdue in the Music City Bowl.
ANALYSIS
Stidham, who announced prior to the bowl game that he would forgo his senior season and enter the 2019 NFL Draft, ended his college career with a bang. He found JaTarvious Whitlow for a 66-yard catch-and-run touchdown just over a minute into the contest and didn't let up from there, directing touchdown drives on the subsequent six possessions of the first half to give Auburn a 56-7 lead at the break. Before giving way to backup Malik Willis, Stidham was on the field for one final drive early in the third quarter, which culminated in a five-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Davis. Stidham wrapped up his final season at Auburn with a 60.7 percent completion rate, 2,794 yards and an 18:5 TD:INT while adding three more scores on the ground.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2018
2017
Stidham's first season on The Plains was a major success. He showcased his accuracy, owning a 66.5 percent completion rate and throwing for 3,158 yards and 18 touchdowns with just six picks. He also demonstrated his ability to get it done on the ground when necessary, rushing for four scores and 153 yards, although he lost four fumbles. Stidham's running backs from 2017 are gone, but he should have a plethora of fresh options out of the backfield, including Kam Martin, Asa Martin, and JaTarvious Whitlow: he'll also have three of his top targets returning at wideout, so he'll definitely have some weapons at his disposal. Stidham will head into his second season with in a well-designed offense that mixes high-percentage throws with deep shots to keep defenses off balance. He figures to compile yet another solid season under center as the Tigers look to make a run to the College Football Playoff.
Expectations are high for Stidham after sitting out last year. In fact, perhaps no player enters the SEC with more intrigue this season. The Baylor transfer had a terrific stretch during his freshman campaign in 2015 before succumbing to a broken ankle. Stidham will be asked to run much more at Auburn, though he is fully healthy and was the No. 1 rated dual-threat prospect at quarterback coming out of high school. He should shine in the run-pass option offense, as he has the wheels as well as the arm to make all the necessary plays. If Stidham and the Tigers enter the conversation for the College Football Playoff, he could even be a dark horse for the Heisman trophy.
