Exits Sugar Bowl with injury
January 1, 2022
Corral won't return Saturday in Ole Miss' Sugar Bowl matchup with Baylor after he was carted off the field in the first quarter with a leg injury, Nick Suss of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
Corral will undergo additional X-rays on his leg to gain more clarity on the injury, but regardless of what the scans reveal, the fourth-year quarterback has more than likely played his last snap with the Rebels. Prior to the game, Corral was widely expected to enter the 2022 NFL Draft, and the injury is unlikely to change those plans. He'll wrap up his fourth season at Oxford with a 20:5 TD:INT and a 67.9 percent completion rate to go with 614 yards and four scores on the ground over 13 games.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2019
Going into 2020 it was unclear if it would be Corral or John Rhys Plumlee at the helm of the Lane Kiffin offense. 3,337 passing yards, 506 rushing yards and 33 total touchdowns later, there’s no doubt that this is Corral’s team. He’s only getting better as a passer and his athletic ability is maximized in this offense. Corral has a tough schedule playing the SEC West and he loses Elijah Moore, but his skillset and experience within this fantasy-friendly offense keep his ceiling high and make him an elite quarterback option for the coming season.
Corral will be the next starting quarterback for the Rebels barring injury. He saw only brief action behind Jordan Ta'amu in 2018, but has all the tools to succeed in the new Rich Rodriguez implemented system. The redshirt freshman was highly touted out of California but eventually spurned not only USC but also Florida en route to ending up at Ole Miss. The Rebels lost three quality wideouts to the NFL in the form of A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf and DaMarkus Lodge, so Corral will looks to hang onto whatever experienced receivers are left, notably Elijah Moore and Braylon Sanders. There could be some growing pains for a young, inexperienced offense under Corral's direction, but he will be given every chance to shine.
