2024 Rush/Rec Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The 2023 Trojan backfield was essentially wiped out this offseason, with top rusher MarShawn Lloyd heading to the NFL, followed by second-leading rusher Austin Jones. Marks will join a new-look USC, and he has the chance to make some noise in his final season of collegiate football. The 5-foot-10 running back played his first four seasons with Mississippi State, where his numbers as a rusher were capped a bit due to the air-raid scheme. However, he does have 154 catches to his name through three seasons, so there are no concerns about him being a three-down option. The Trojans offense has plenty of passing game turnover, headlined by quarterback Caleb Williams' reign coming to an end in favor of Miller Moss, who impressed in his Holiday Bowl audition. Marks will get one final year with a clean slate and may be relied on heavily as USC searches for its identity with many key players missing. Read Past Outlooks
Rolls in blowout win
Marks compiled 13 carries for 103 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 48-0 victory over Utah State. He also caught all three of his targets for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
Marks found a much easier path to the end zone Week 2 even though he logged one fewer touchdown Saturday. The Mississippi State transfer scored a two-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. However, after commanding the bulk of carries Week 1 versus LSU, Marks split snaps with redshirt freshman Quinten Joyner, who tallied 10 carries for 84 yards and two scores. Joyner actually logged the first touchdown of the game with a nine-yard score late in the first quarter. Given that this was a matchup versus an inferior opponent for USC, it's unclear if the team will actually begin to work in Joyner alongside Marks more moving forward. The best measuring stick for this potential split will come when the Trojans next play in their Big Ten-opener versus Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 21.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Entering his fourth season with the Bulldogs, Marks appears primed for a breakout of sorts under the direction of new offensive coordinator Kevin Barbay, whose running back room at Appalachian State last season accounted for 392 carries for 2,452 yards and 23 rushing touchdowns. While those total were shared among six different running backs, the Bulldogs don't quite share the same depth at the position, so expect Marks to taken on a healthy volume of carries in 2023.Marks posted a solid junior season in 2022, compiling 113 carries, 582 yards and 9 touchdowns while running at a 5.2 yards per rush and adding 48 catches for 288 yards. While his production in the receiving game figures to falter in the new offensive scheme, his increased touches on the round should more than make up the difference.
