Afghanistan vs. West Indies: Third T20I Preview

Afghanistan vs. West Indies: Third T20I Preview

Match Details:

Series: Afghanistan vs West Indies

Venue: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

Date: November 17, 2019

Time: 7:00 p.m. IST

Match Preview:

After losing the first T20I by 30 runs, Afghanistan made a strong comeback in the second match of the series as they beat West Indies by 41 runs. Although the batsmen struggled once again on a tricky pitch, their bowlers were on song once again.

West Indies, on the other hand, would want to consider this defeat as a minor blip in their tour which has been near-perfect otherwise. They won the ODI series by a 3-0 margin and looked quite good to do the same in the T20Is as well. But this match showed that they have some areas of concern to look after and will look to rectify that to come back even stronger in the series decider on Sunday.

Weather Conditions:

The weather forecast says that the skies will be partially cloudy and there is no chance of rain. But the air quality would be poor.

Pitch Report:

This is the third game of the series and the pitch is expected to be on the slower side. The second game was a low-scoring encounter and the second match could be the same once again.

Probable Playing XI:

Afghanistan: Hazratullah Zazai, Asghar Afghan, Ibrahim Zadran, Najibullah Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Karim Janat, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Kieron Pollard (10 Cr):

He didn't quite deliver in the second match but he did score 32 runs and picked up two wickets in the first T20I.

Kesrick Williams (8.5 Cr):

The West Indian bowler has registered three-wicket hauls in both the matches so far. He could be backed to deliver in this match once again.

Captaincy Options (in order of priority): Karim Janat, Kesrick Williams
