Games (EDT)
- 4:00 p.m. London Royal Ravens vs. OpTic Gaming Los Angeles
- 5:30 p.m. Chicago Huntsmen vs. New York Subliners
LON (7-8) vs. OGLA (7-10)
I think it's safe to say the Zer0 effect has been a strong one. After 3-0ing his former team, the Subliners, in Saturday's contest, the European slayer now has back-to-back contests with at least 90+ DK points. Of course there's only two games taking place Sunday, but it's still stunning to see him sit as the fourth highest-priced player after spending the past two days hovering around $6,000.
Of the two series Sunday, I feel slightly more confident CHI/NYS could end up playing four or more games, and as we learned from Saturday's slate, identifying which team will ultimately play more matches can be the literal difference between cashing and not. Still, I think the likes of both Zer0 and Skrapz have to be in consideration for this series no matter who you see winning, if only because of their guaranteed slaying roles.
On the flip side, SlasheR has been absolutely dominant for OpTic Gaming, to the point he needs to be a lock in any lineup. Kuavo also always has the potential to go off, but he's been inconsistent at times, popping off Saturday in large part because OpTic played in some more close-quarter maps. I have no idea whether that will occur Sunday, but with the pricing the way it is, you really only need one sub $8,000-priced player to give you flexibility

Prediction: 3-1 Royal Ravens
LON Players to Target: Zero ($8,800), Skrapz ($8,200), Royal Ravens Team ($1,800)
OGLA Players to Target: SlasheR ($9,400), Kuavo ($7,400)
CHI (14-4) vs. NYS (6-11)
I've really been impressed with the Huntsmen. Things were a bit rocky Friday after inserting Prestinni into the starting lineup, but the former Mutineer was an absolute blitzkrieg in the series sweep over the Minnesota Rokkr. Considering many thought Prestinni was merely an uber aggressive SMG player who just sacrifices himself for team success, Saturday's performance should at least put that antiquated notion to rest. He'll have a hard time replicating the feat against the bevy of SMG veterans on the Subliners, but there's a different vibe to the Huntsmen right now, and it's hard to ignore it.
With that being said, this is the game to stack, as I think the Subliners Search and Destroy should be good enough to push to at least a Game 4, whereas I would imagine the Huntsmen can win two, if not all, of the respawn game modes. The usual high-priced suspects, Envoy and MackMelts, would be pretty easy starts, but I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to see yet another vintage FormaL. This new-look lineup has allowed the former world champion to be both an objective fiend and an aggressive slayer, with back-to-back 100+ DK contests to show as proof.
I've said it a million times already, but particularly in this small of a slate it bears mentioning again; the Huntsmen always come with a higher ownership due to their player's name recognition, so factor that in when considering just how many of them you want in your tournament lineups.
Prediction: CHI 3-1
CHI Players to Target: Envoy ($9,000), FormaL ($8,600)
NYS Players to Target: MackMelts ($9,200), Temp ($7,000), ZooMaa ($6,200)
