As we navigate through the season, we are starting to see Top 5 candidates in every category crystallize a bit, but at this point, no one has come through with any of the top prizes!  That won't stop us from trying, however

We ended up nailing one category this week, but not enough to connect, Before diving into Week 9, let's take a look at last week's winners in every category.

WEEK 8 RESULTS

QB Passing Yards - Matthew Stafford

We gave you this recommendation, and he came through with flying colors.

QB Completed Passes - Daniel Jones

With prime target Evan Engram and star running back Saquon Barkley back, Jones' fortunes were increased dramatically.

RB Rushing Yards - James Conner

We should have seen this one coming against the pitiful Miami defense, but Pittsburgh currently offers no guarantees. Congrats to anyone who nailed this one!

RB Receiving Yards - Aaron Jones

Jones absolutely destroyed the field with 199 receiving yards, more than most receivers on the slate.  Aaron Rodgers and Jones have carried the Packers in Davante Adams' absence.

WR Receiving Yards - Mike Evans

Evans is such a boom-or-bust candidate for the Bucs.  There's really no telling whether the ball goes to Evans or Chris Godwin on any given week

WR Receptions - Mike Evans

Evans simply dominated the receiving category last week across the board.

FG Made - Dan Bailey

Bailey nailed four field goals for the Vikings.

Defense Points Allowed - Vikings

Week 9 Targets

QB Passing Yards

Russell Wilson, SEA vs. TB

I really like Wilson's matchup for both QB categories.  Tampa Bay ranks last in the league in this category, allowing 293.7 yards per game.  Wilson has also exceeded projections in two straight games.

Matthew Stafford, DET @ OAK

I'll happily go right back to Stafford against Oakland. Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola make up one of the best-receiving crews in the business right now, Oakland ranks 30th in the league in passing yards allowed.

QB Passes Completed

I'll say right off the bat that I like Matthew Stafford again in this category, but let's give you a couple of other options.

Jameis Winston, TB @ SEA

Winston will need to air it our often to take a win against the Seahawks, and he certainly has some prime weapons to target in Evans and Godwin. Seattle has also ranked third-worst in passing attempts allowed, with an average of 37.2 attempts per game.

Philip Rivers, LAC vs. GB

Rivers still ranks among the top QBs in passing attempts, and he'll need to go to the air to get past the Packers.  Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are dominant in the right matchup, and Austin Ekeler is a great security blanket when Rivers needs to check it down.

RB Rushing Yards

Dalvin Cook, MIN vs. WAS

I'm going back to Cook for a second-straight week.  Whether Patrick Mahomes takes the field or not, Kansas City's defense has had trouble defending the run, allowing an average of 128.3 yards per game (31st).The Vikings are favored in this game, and they rush 41 percent more when they're the favorite.  Result? Cook goes off.

Nick Chubb, CLE @ DEN

A bit of a contrarian play, but let's face it, the Broncos are in disarray and their defense will be on the field, a lot.  The Broncos aren't bad defending the run, but Chubb is currently Cleveland's most dependable offensive weapon, and he's due to return to the top in this category.

RB Receiving Yards

Aaron Jones, GB @ LAC

Jones is as safe as they come in this category currently.  Packers coach Matt LeFleur and Rodgers have finally synced up their offensive philosophies and it's resulted into payday for Jones, who's carrying the offense in Adams' absence. Jones has blown out projections twice this season, and I think he could very well repeat with another explosion.

Also, refer back to Dalvin Cook. I like him to sweep the category.

WR Receiving Yards

Allen Robinson, CHI @ PHI

Assuming the weather holds up, I expect Robinson to rebound with a great game.  He's projected to line up opposite Jalen Mills, who's struggled this season.  The Eagles are in the bottom third in the league when it comes to defending the pass.

Marvin Jones, Jr, DET @ OAK

Jones will line up against Trayvon Mullen, who has had his struggles this year. There are a lot of mouths to feed in the Lions offense, but Jones gets targeted more than any other receiver - he just needs to convert more of them. He's especially deadly in the red zone, where he's been targeted seven times in the past three games.

WR Receptions

Keenan Allen, LAC vs. GB

If I believe in Rivers, it makes sense to go with his most popular target. Allen has been targeted at least six times over the past three games, and he's averaged 6.4 receptions per game this season.

FG Made

This category is always a crapshoot, but I think the Red Zone TD Conversion Rate is the best guide for this spot - the lower percentage, the better.  I'll target Jacksonville and Pittsburgh for this spot, making Josh Lambo and Chris Boswell my top selections.

Defense Points Allowed

Remember that we are strictly looking for points allowed, so we are trying to identify blowouts and goose-eggs.

A bit of a stretch, but I think the Jets can get things done against the Dolphins. Also, I'm inclined to consider the Bills against the Redskins in what should be a lopsided matchup.
