Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Player X vs. Player Y?" without any other mitigating factors. Of course, I welcome debate - if you think I'm wrong, let me know. But please check out the rankings first before asking your start/sit question. This truly reflects my opinion in my leagues.

Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning. I will post at the top of the article in bold font when ranking updates are in progress and when they're complete.

I welcome debate on the rankings in the comments. Please keep it friendly.

Quarterbacks

1.	Aaron Rodgers GB vs. CHI Note: Rodgers' toe improved with the rest provided by the bye week, though it's not yet fully healed. Still managing practice reps - didn't practice Thursday. Rodgers will have to play through the toe injury for the rest of the season.*

15.	*Taylor Heinicke WAS vs. DAL Note: Teammate Ryan Fitzpatrick will have season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his hip, so Heinecke is locked in for the rest of the season.
16.	Joe Burrow CIN vs. SF Note: Burrow dislocated his right pinkie finger in the loss to the Chargers and clearly was affected by that injury at points in the game. He'll be limited in practice to begin the week. Burrow didn't take any reps in Wednesday's practice, but he returned to action Thursday. Burrow was officially cleared from the injury list, but he probably will still be bothered by the finger during the game. He might also be without Joe Mixon (illness) and Tee Higgins (ankle).*

27.	Davis Mills HOU vs. SEA Note: Mills might get back into the starting lineup this week if Tyrod Taylor's wrist injury keeps him out. Mills is likely to start, though that hasn't been made official yet.*
28.	Mike Glennon NYG at LAC Note: Glennon suffered a concussion in the loss to the Dolphins. Glennon wasn't present at Wednesday's practice, but upgraded to a limited practice Thursday. Glennon cleared the concussion protocol Friday and will start this week.*

30.	Jake Fromm NYG at LAC Note: Fromm might end up starting this week, due to Mike Glennon's concussion. Glennon cleared the concussion protocol and will start this week. Fromm will be the backup.*
31.	Tyrod Taylor HOU vs. SEA Note: Taylor might have torn ligaments in his left wrist in the loss to the Colts last week. Full participant in practice Thursday, but is sharing first-team reps with Davis Mills, who looks more likely than not to get the start this week.*
32.	Daniel Jones NYG at LAC Note: Jones's neck injury is putting him on week-to-week status; meanwhile Mike Glennon suffered a concussion in the loss to the Dolphins. It could be Jake Fromm this week. Jones was limited in Wednesday's walk-through practice. Jones has not yet been cleared for contact, so he'll sit this week out and Glennon will start.*
33.	Andy Dalton CHI at GB Note: Dalton threw four interceptions and injured his left hand in the loss to Arizona last week. Dalton didn't practice Wednesday, and has been benched behind Justin Fields. Officially listed as doubtful to even be the backup.*

Running Backs

1.	Austin Ekeler LAC vs. NYG Note: Ekeler is 'banged up' after the win over the Bengals on Sunday, but he's expected to practice. Ekeler has been limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday. Cleared from the injury list.*

4.	Alvin Kamara NO at NYJ Note: Kamara (knee) was a full participant Wednesday, right as Mark Ingram was placed on the COVID-IR.*

7.	Joe Mixon CIN vs. SF Note: Mixon briefly left last week after hurting his neck, but later returned. He has now scored in nine consecutive games. He's officially a game-time decision for a game starting at 4:25p ET, but is expected to play.*

10.	David Montgomery CHI at GB Note: Montgomery has been limited at practice with shoulder/groin/glute issues. Montgomery was cleared from the injury report Friday.*
11.	James Conner ARZ vs. LAR Note: It's possible that Chase Edmonds will return Monday night - he's a game-time decision. The Cardinals have until Sunday at 4p ET to decide whether to activate him in time for this week.*
12.	Ezekiel Elliott DAL at WAS Note: Teammate Tony Pollard might be out this week after tear the plantar fascia in his left foot.*
13.	Javonte Williams DEN vs. DET Note: Williams had a massive game with Gordon out on Sunday night, and draws a really nice matchup against the Lions this week. Melvin Gordon has had two limited practices this week, so I'm guessing we're back to some semblance of a time-share this week.*
14.	*Dalvin Cook MIN vs. PIT Note: Cook (shoulder) put in a limited practice Tuesday - his status for Thursday remains uncertain. The initial reporting last week suggested that Cook would be out until Week 15. Conflicting reports all day - the latest suggests that while he is a game-time decision, Cook will play. Adam Schefter is reporting he'll even get a full workload while wearing a shoulder harness. I remain a little skeptical about the workload, but he's officially active.
15.	Sony Michel LA at ARI Note: It looks like Michel will get another start with Darrell Henderson getting added to the COVID-IR on Saturday.*

26.	Jermar Jefferson DET at DEN Note: Both Williams and Swift are out, so it'll be a combination of Jefferson, Godwin Igwebuike and Craig Reynolds in the backfield for the Lions this week.*

28.	Ty Johnson NYJ vs. NO Note: Johnson has been eclipsed by Tevin Coleman by a wide amount in the two weeks that Michael Carter (ankle) has been out. But now Coleman is in the concussion protocol and has not practiced yet this week. Coleman has been ruled out this week.*

30.	Melvin Gordon DEN vs. DET Note: Gordon (hip/shoulder) is expected 'to practice at some point during the week' after missing Sunday night's loss to the Chiefs. Gordon has participated in limited practices Wednesday and Thursday so far this week. I think he'll end up playing, albeit less than Williams. Gordon was limited at practice all week and is listed as questionable, though he's expected to play.*

If he gets cleared to play, I'll put him around 10th. Mitchell is also dealing with a knee issue and didn't practice Wednesday. Ruled out this week.*
