Nick O'Malley of MassLive.com believes the Patriots, who met with Perry as one of 30 pre-draft visits, could consider drafting the quarterback to move him into a multi-positional role.
ANALYSIS
Perry enjoyed a rather productive season during his senior year at Brown, averaging 303.3 passing yards per game, which ranked eighth-best in the FCS, but he is seen as undersized for the quarterback position. Conversely, Perry showed enough natural athleticism as a runner to possibly warrant a position switch or use as a change-of-pace dual-threat option at the professional level as previously pointed out by Lance Zierlein of NFL Network. The Massachusetts native ran a 4.65 40-yard dash along with a more impressive 6.85 three-cone drill at the NFL Combine, leaving O'Malley to believe that Perry could make for a Julian Edelman type of player if drafted by the Patriots.
