Bell had a strong rookie campaign after being selected in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Michigan product survived training camp roster cuts in order to carve out a role on special teams. Bell had a nose for the end zone when asked to fill in for injured starters, accruing three receiving touchdowns on just six official receptions in his rookie season. Bell made San Francisco's opening roster as expected after catching just six of 13 targets over 17 regular-season games as a rookie in 2023. The wideout didn't record a reception in Monday's win, and he did not get an opportunity to return a kickoff while rookie Jacob Cowing handled punt return duties. Given his current role, Bell doesn't move the fantasy needle heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Vikings.

The 6-foot wideout doesn't bring much explosiveness to the table, but he has reliable hands and could be more pro-ready than most rookies given his lengthy college career. Bell is a candidate to land on the 49ers' practice squad to start the year given the team's current strength at the position.
