SLATE PREVIEW
We've got six games and the Lightning and Blackhawks play the second half of a back-to-back. The opener was a lot closer than anyone expected with the Lightning storming back from a 2-0 deficit to win in overtime when Victor Hedman's shot crossed the line with 0.1 seconds remaining.
GOALIES
Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK at SJ ($8,300): Fleury only allowed one goal on 25 shots in his last start against the Sharks and has been sterling all season. The Sharks' offense has some pop, but their depth has been severely hampered with Tomas Hertl out of the lineup as they were shut out by the Avalanche in their last game.
Philipp Grubauer, COL vs. ANH ($8,100): Grubauer bounced back nicely with a shutout after allowing five goals the previous game. The Ducks' offense has made it interesting during the late stages of recent games, but it also means they're playing catch-up most of the time.
Cal Petersen, LA vs. STL ($7,000): The Kings haven't announced a starter, but it's expected to be Petersen with Jonathan Quick starting and losing their most recent matchup. Petersen has won three of his past five with both losses coming in overtime. The Kings are streaky having lost three straight, but they're also 3-1 against the Blues this season.
VALUE PLAYS
Maxime Comtois, ANH at COL ($4,300): I normally wouldn't recommend anyone on Anaheim, but Comtois' production has been particularly noteworthy. He's scored two goals and six points over his past five games and has been one of the Ducks' more consistent scorers. Comtois' nine goals is nearly double the next highest total on the team (Isac Lundestrom with five).
Cody Glass, VGK at SJ ($3,700): The Knights have reverted to their usual lines, so Glass is back on the third line but continues to get quality minutes - especially on the power play. At least at even strength he gets to play with the underrated Alex Tuch, providing a chance to potentially extend his point streak to three games.
Andreas Athanasiou, LA vs. STL ($3,700): Athanasiou tends to be very streaky and it looks like he's heating up with three points in four games. The Kings' lack of scoring depth means he's almost guaranteed to get top-six minutes with power-play time.
Dylan Gambrell, SJ vs. VGK ($3,500): Gambrell has yet to score a goal this season, but he's done a decent job filling in for Hertl with two helpers over his past three games - although he could shoot the puck a bit more. His presence on PP2 makes him one of the better value plays of the night.
LINE STACKS
Blues at Kings
Ryan O'Reilly ($6,900), Zach Sanford (W - $4,400), Jordan Kyrou (W - $4,600)
Sanford has scored six points in his past three games and this line has become the Blues' best in short order. Even with the outside chance Vladimir Tarasenko returns to the lineup, it's hard to see head coach Craig Berube break up this trio.
Coyotes vs. Wild
Nick Schmaltz (C - $4,300), Conor Garland (W - $5,700), Phil Kessel (W - $6,400)
In retrospect, we shouldn't be surprised that not having Garland in the lineup makes such a huge difference to the Coyotes' offense. He only missed one game (they lost 6-2), but continued where he left off upon his return by extending his point streak to four.
Golden Knights vs. Sharks
Chandler Stephenson (C - $4,400), Max Pacioretty (W - $7,800), Mark Stone (W - $7,400)
We don't really need a write-up for this one, do we?
DEFENSEMEN
Drew Doughty, LA vs. STL ($6,000): Doughty, Victor Hedman, John Carlson and Shea Theodore represent tonight's top four elite D options, but Doughty earns the advantage having scored three points in two games and will play on home ice where the Kings will get last change.
Samuel Girard, COL vs. ANH ($5,300): With Cale Makar missing two more contests, the Avs will continue to lean on Girard and his four points from his past three games along with a goal in two straight. Girard's not nearly as dynamic as Makar, but his 15 points in 18 games ranks 11th in P/GP just behind Quinn Hughes.
Matt Grzelcyk, BOS vs. WSH ($3,800): Grzelcyk returned to his usual spot on the top power play and that brings immense fantasy value because of the surrounding talent. He's a great value play at this salary.
