Following a rather small Saturday of hockey, we cap the week off with four games starting at 12:30 p.m. EST.
Both Ottawa and Montreal will be playing on the second-half of back-to-backs, which should provide better matchups for Washington and Buffalo. The Canadiens and their league-worst 3.93 GAA will host the Sabres while the Avs hope to benefit with the league's second-best offense (4.02) when they travel to Dallas.
DISCLOSURE: Things may not be the same at puck drop due to COVID-19. Make sure to monitor the news feed and play at your own risk.
GOALIES
Tristan Jarry, PIT at NJ ($8,400): Jarry is playing lights-out and is single-handedly carrying the Pens through tough matchups. The Devils have struggled to score over their last five games and the Pens are slated to get Evgeni Malkin back.
VALUE PLAYS
Tage Thompson, BUF at MON ($5,900): It's extremely hard to find value on the slate without taking a significant risk. But based on Buffalo's recent production and some salary increases, Thompson has been a solid player to target. The top-line pivot anchors Buffalo's scoring with seven points and 17 shots in his last five appearances. Going against Montreal's atrocious defense, he should at least find the scoresheet.
Zach Sanford, OTT at WAS ($3,700): Sanford has been stuck in the bottom-six for the majority of the season and is now getting a chance to shine on the top line. He's in need of a major offensive resurgence and he could do so against a struggling Caps' defense.
LINE STACKS TO CONSIDER
Sabres at Canadiens: Tage Thompson (C - $5,900), Jeff Skinner (W - $5,800), Alex Tuch (W - $6,800)
Montreal sports the league's worst GAA and now get to play a young and fast Sabres squad. Over the last five games, this trio has recorded 14 points and 64 shots. This could not be a better spot for the in-form Sabres to show dominance to end the week.
Penguins vs Devils: Sidney Crosby (C - $8,900), Bryan Rust (W - $9,300), Jake Guentzel (W - $9,500)
Here's our most obvious stack of the day. Not only do we get full access to the Pens' first line, but we also get the majority of their top power play. The club have entered a slight lull, but they did manage to tough out a 2-0 win over the Sens. Both the Pens and Devils are projected to have big names return - Malkin for Pittsburgh and Jack Hughes for Jersey - but the Devils still struggle defensively and the Pens boast the players to capitalize.
DEFENSE
Esa Lindell, DAL vs COL ($4,600): Lindell was already given a chance to shine once this season and another opportunity may arise with teammate John Klingberg questionable for this game. The defensive-minded defenseman has been on fire of late with three assists, six shots, and 10 blocked shots over his last five games. Even if Klingberg does manage to play, Lindell should still see enough puck to hit his floor.
Rasmus Dahlin, BUF at MON ($6,100): Dahlin has not been a star this season, but he is starting to show improved form with three points, 11 shots, and eight blocks from his past five games. As mentions, the Canadiens' defense isn't great and Dahlin could prove to be a difference maker quarterbacking the Sabres' lead power play.
