Following a small Saturday of hockey, we cap another week off with five games starting at 5:00 p.m. EST.
We have a handful of teams playing on the second half of back-to-backs: Ottawa, Buffalo, Arizona and Edmonton. The Coyotes and their league's second-worst 3.93 GAA will host the Stars, while the Wild hope to benefit with the league's third-best offense at 3.67 when they travel to Edmonton.
DISCLOSURE: Things may not be the same at puck drop due to COVID-19. Make sure to monitor the news feed and play at your own risk.
GOALIES
Jake Oettinger, DAL at ARI ($8,200): Oettinger continues to provide the backbone this season for the Stars with a .921 save percentage and 2.36 GAA. Not only has he won his past four matchups, but he also posted a shutout last time out against Chicago. Oettinger will get the chance to post back-to-back zeroes against a Coyotes team who will be playing their second game in as many days and sport the league's second-worst GF/60 (2.21).
VALUE PLAYS
Jack Eichel, VGS at SJ ($5,500): This is beyond a no-brainer. Eichel didn't take long to get accustomed to his new team and notch his first point this season. He's still skating off the rust, but this is too hard to pass up at under $6K.
Erik Brannstrom, OTT vs NYR ($3,900): Anyone remember Brannstrom's potential when he was the first defenseman selected by Vegas as a cornerstone to their development pool? Well, he still offers that upside as Thomas Chabot has been out. This has provided Brannstrom with the perfect opportunity with two assists, four shots and six blocked shots in his last five matches.
LINE STACKS TO CONSIDER
Sabres at Blue Jackets: Tage Thompson (C - $6,300), Jeff Skinner (W - $6,000), Alex Tuch (W - $7,300)
The Blue Jackets may have won four of their last five games, but they're also conceding 3.6 goals per game during that stretch. Columbus is pure offense or nothing right now and it's surprisingly paying off. However, the Sabres will hope to strike revenge after their 4-3 loss to the Blue Jackets over a week ago. If anyone will carry the offense here, it will be this trio with an impressive 22 points and 54 shots over the last five.
Stars at Coyotes: Roope Hintz (C - $7,100), Jason Robertson (W - $8,100), Joe Pavelski (W - $7,800)
The Stars and - more specifically - this trio could not be welcoming themselves into any better of a matchup. The lowly Coyotes had yet another disappointing defeat last night conceding four straight goals to lose 5-3. These teams have already met two other times this season where Dallas won with a combined score of 7-3. In the last five appearances, this trio has managed 13 points and 41 shots.
DEFENSE
Rasmus Dahlin, BUF at CBJ ($6,100): The Buffalo trend continues with Rasmus Dahlin, who's recently been on fire with five points, six shots and 10 blocked shots from his last five appearances. Buffalo is the closest thing to a guarantee to score three or more goals tonight and Dahlin will have every chance to be part of it.
Alex Pietrangelo, VGS at SJ ($6,000): Pietrangelo has taken a hit to his potential with 27 points on the season. However, the majority of his scoring totals over his career have come on the power-play and Vegas has been missing a number of big weapons for most of the campaign. Even without points in five games, Pietrangelo has still recorded 12 shots and 14 blocked shots. If points come, they're a bonus.
