Hyry signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Dallas on Monday.

ANALYSIS
Hyry drew into 55 regular-season games with Karpat of Finland's Liiga this year, picking up 14 goals and 31 points before adding three goals through 11 playoff appearances with the team. The 23-year-old winger will get an opportunity to battle for a spot on the Stars' Opening Night roster during next year's training camp, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him split time between the NHL and AHL in 2024-25.

Hyry would be a good candidate to start the 2024-25 campaign in the minors, per Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine on Thursday.

ANALYSIS
Per LeVine, the fact that Hyry has never seen action in North America will likely see him start the year with AHL Texas in order to make the adjustment from the European style of play. Still, if the 23-year-old Finn can produce in the minors like he did with Karpat last year, 31 points in 55 games, he should earn a promotion to the NHL level at some point.
