ANALYSIS
Berard should be high on the list of potential call-ups throughout the upcoming campaign and could even be brought back before Opening Night against Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Even if the 22-year-old winger doesn't play right away, he should get minutes at some point during the year and could be an intriguing option to monitor in dynasty formats.

Berard will likely be assigned to AHL Hartford ahead of the regular season, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.

ANALYSIS
While Berard will likely be left off the Rangers' Opening Night roster, head coach Peter Laviolette praised the 22-year-old winger Monday. "He made an impression with everybody. It's the way he works and the way he competes," Laviolette said. "You see him out here mixed in with a full NHL team, and he looks really good." Berard hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but it's possible he joins the Rangers at some point this year, particularly if he impresses in the minors.
