Abols should get a look at the AHL level this season after inking his entry-level deal with the Panthers. The 23-year-old Latvian has some potential as a checking-line center if he can fill out his 6-foot-4, 187-pound frame. That said, Abols still has a ways to go before he even starts earning consideration at the NHL level.
