Santos is scheduled to compete against fellow featherweight Jack Jenkins in Sydney at UFC 312 on Feb. 8, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Santos logged only one fight in 2024, but the year proved to be a successful one for him, as he logged his first UFC win by defeating Yi Zha at UFC Vegas 97. Jenkins has also fought only once this year, and that bout saw him easily dispatch Herbert Burns.

Picks up first UFC victory
FeatherweightUFC
September 7, 2024
Santos defeated Yi Zha via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Santos went out and did what he had to do, handling his business against a clearly inferior opponent. The striking numbers were fairly close when all was said and done (110-96 in Santos' favor), but Gabriel closed with a 76-41 edge in those deemed "significant." Toss in a pair of successful takedowns and 6:35 worth of control time, and this was a clear cut unanimous decision victory for the Brazilian. It was a big effort for Santos given he had dropped his first two UFC bouts to a pair of quality opponents in Lerone Murphy and David Onama.

Santos will face Yi Zha in a featherweight bout at UFC Vegas 97 on Sept. 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Santos' most recent scheduled bout, a clash with Westin Wilson set for January, was scrapped. Now, the Brazilian fighter will finally get his third shot at a UFC victory after dropping matches against Lerone Murphy and David Onama. Santos has two inches of height on his opponent Zha, who is also looking for his first UFC victory.
Withdraws from Wilson fight

December 13, 2023
Santos withdrew from his scheduled fight against Westin Wilson at UFC Vegas 84, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Santos was forced to pull out of the fight, but the 27-year-old will need to wait a bit longer for a chance at earning his first UFC win. Jean Silva will step in as Santos' replacement.

October 11, 2023
Santos will compete against Westin Wilson in a featherweight fight at UFC Vegas 83 on Jan. 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Santos' next fight will be in 2024. Despite making his UFC debut in 2023, it was a disappointing year for him in terms of results. Santos fought twice, both resulting in losses to Lerone Murphy and David Onama. Ideally for Santos, he can bounce back in 2024.
Still seeking first UFC victory
FeatherweightUFC
June 24, 2023
Santos lost to David Onama via KO (punch) at 4:13 of Round 2 at UFC on ABC 5 on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a whopping -225 favorite, this is a crushing setback for Santos considering how strong he looked in the opening frame. He appeared to have Onama in trouble on multiple occasions, clamping on a pair of deep submissions in addition to landing a pair of takedowns. Both men were clearly tired towards the closing stage of Round 2, at which point Santos got cracked with an uppercut and follow-up shot which appeared to knock him out cold. Santos joined the UFC this past March with victories in his first ten professional bouts, but he's lost each of his first two bouts with the company and will likely be fighting for his job his next time out.
