Salvages draw with strong finish
Light HeavyweightUFC
February 8, 2025
Bellato and Jimmy Crute fought to a majority draw (27-29, 28-28, 28-28) at UFC 312 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
On the surface, a draw doesn't seem like a great result for a guy that entered as a -150 favorite, but it's actually a best-case scenario for Bellato considering where he was after Round 1. The Brazilian's opening frame went so poorly that all three judges scored it 10-8 in favor of Crute. Bellato almost certainly would have been finished had he not been saved by the bell. He was considerably better as the fight progressed, aided by the fact Crute was visibly exhausted. Two of the three judges gave him the final two rounds, which was enough to salvage the majority draw. Bellato is now 1-0-1 in his first three UFC bouts.

Bellato will no longer fight against Oumar Sy at UFC Vegas 92 on May 18, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Bellato hasn't lost professionally since 2022, but he'll need to wait for an opportunity to continue that streak. His second ever UFC fight will also need to wait after he was pulled from his bout against Sy. When he does get his next opponent in the UFC, Bellato will look to improve his record in the promotion to 2-0.

Bellato is scheduled to compete against Oumar Sy in a light heavyweight fight at UFC Vegas 92 on May 18, per Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Bellato's next opponent recently signed with the UFC, an undefeated 6-foot-5 freshman also known for his long 83.9-inch reach. He began his promotion career on a high note by defeating Ihor Potieria in two rounds. Two becomes the streak of wins Bellato reaches if Sy ends up losing their May fight.
Epic comeback in UFC debut
Light HeavyweightUFC
December 2, 2023
Bellato defeated Ihor Potieria via TKO (punches) at 4:17 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Making his official company debut after a knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series in early-October, Bellato was the largest favorite on the card at -425. He looked awful a good portion of the fight and appeared to be well on his way to a knockout loss in Round 2, but Potieria gassed out in search of the finish, and Rodoflo showed plenty of heart in hanging in there and eventually turning the tables on his opponent. So, while the win is nice and the comeback was terrific, this wasn't exactly an encouraging performance from Bellato on his maiden voyage with the UFC. Still, he'll walk away with a $50,000 bonus after this bout was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Bellato will compete against Ihor Potieria in a light heavyweight fight at UFC Austin on Dec. 2, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Potieria, a 6-foot-3 Brazilian light heavyweight, recently earned a UFC contract by impressing during Dana White's Contender Series. With an 11-2 record at just 27 years old, he will look to make a significant impact in the company's light heavyweight division.
