Itching to immediately get back in the Octagon following a dreadful showing in a submission defeat to Chase Hooper in May, Borshchev returned here and did just enough to get back in the win column. This was a stand-up brawl, which is the type of fight Borshchev -- the striking coach at Team Alpha Male -- excels in. Both he and Llontop landed 97 total strikes, but Slava connected on the more meaningful blows, especially over the course of the first ten minutes. Borshchev's upside is quite low as a 32-year-old with zero grappling game to speak of, but his roster spot should be secure for a while with this win.

Borshchev's toughness combined with some poor fight IQ displayed by Sadykhov allowed the former to survive the frame and get right back on the offense in Round 3, earning the draw. Borshchev's secondary skills are lacking, but he's a high-end kickboxer who can hang with most any lightweight on the roster in a striking battle. He'll also walk away with an extra $50,000 here after this back-and-forth matchup was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
