Malukas reinforced Friday afternoon that World Wide Technology Raceway is his best track in the NTT IndyCar Series, as he led practice for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline.

ANALYSIS
Malukas' lap of 178.830 mph of the Madison, Illinois oval was best for the session. Considering that most runs were mock qualifying runs, this is a very good sign for the young driver ahead of Friday's pole qualifying. Malukas edged Colton Herta to lead this session. The Meyer Shank Racing youngster looks like a possible podium threat for Saturday night's race under the lights at Gateway.
