Kevin Magnussen

Haas F1 Team
2023 Fantasy Outlook
The Danish driver had difficulties finishing in the points during the latter half of the 2022 season after starting off strong with three Top-10 finishes in the first four races. But alongside Haas' many mechanical issues last year- leading to five different DNFs out of 22 race starts for Magnussen- the driver of the No. 20 found it difficult to continuously outperform his younger teammate Mick Schumacher following the summer break. Despite his performance struggles, however, a wet qualifying session at the Brazil Grand Prix brought Magnussen (and Haas, by extension) his first-ever pole position in Formula One, and a moment to be remembered fondly in the years to come. Magnussen urgently needs a good season going into 2023, both for the sake of his own confidence and for the benefit of his team; with any luck, Haas will have remedied the issues with the VF-22 that plagued the Dutchman throughout the 2022 season and Magnussen will be able to put up some good points for the team this year. Last-place in Season Finale
Formula One
November 28, 2023
Magnussen finished 20th in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Yas Marina Circuit Sunday evening.
ANALYSIS
Magnussen would pit on lap 6 to switch medium for hard tyres, setting up a big second stint. It would later be revealed that he locked up the brakes in turn 16 making the very early stop and tyre change necessary. That would put Magnussen on an alternate pit strategy and mire him in the back of the field the rest of the way. He would fall 1-lap down to Max Verstappen on lap 52 and ride to a disappointing 20th-place finish at the Yas Marina Circuit.
