Armstrong was fastest in opening practice for the Bitnile.com Grand Prix of Portland NTT IndyCar Series race at Portland International Raceway on Friday. He turned a fast lap of 120. 636 mph.

The surprising Armstrong topped a trio of Hondas on the top of the scoring pylon Friday at Portland. The Chip Ganassi Racing youngster beat out Scott Dixon to turn the fastest lap of the challenging Portland circuit.
